Chapter 19: Myth—Sexuality Doesn’t Matter

Once you’ve entered the heart and are engaged in masturbation with objects, toys, and machines — it is a short distance to the prostitute and

other areas God has clearly condemned as being “sexually immoral.” Jesus is teaching that if we cannot control a body part, we should cut it off. For the male it might mean getting castrated or other things. However, God has reminded me that even in the case of castration, that it will not eliminate

immoral sex in the true pervert. Such a person still has other body parts such as his mouth, lips, tongue, hands, feet, etc. and while the penis would not be then able to engage in sexual immorality — many other body parts would still be available. Ergo, God’s command to control sin and not to

allow sin to control you. Masturbation can be an effective means of controlling sin and limiting sex to the area of marriage or to one’s self.

When I reflect on the issue of my male experiences, I remember the physical pressures involved in most men while overseas in the Navy on long

extended tours of duty. The male body “generates” internal sexual pressures and there are ways men deal with these pressures. My observations is that: a) men are kept on exhausting schedules and this diminishes the libido; b) men will masturbate to eliminate the pressures; c) men will obsess over

having sex and drive themselves nuts; d) men will seek out prostitutes and pay for sex; e) men will engage in other sexually immoral behaviors; and, d) many will blame the loss of their libido on the idea the military is slipping them saltpeter. This latter item has been proven to be a myth. Saltpeter is

potassium nitrate and it can cause several harmful effects to the human body and has not been demonstrated to decrease male sex drives. Yet, we all believed this as fact when I was in the military. I understand that even today, the saltpeter myth permeates military and other male establishments.

Ejaculation is consistent with God’s male body design. It will happen one way or another in males. Ergo, self-contained masturbation is consistent with the body design and God’s command to control sin.

“Now Samson went to Gaza and saw a harlot [prostitute] there, and went in to her.” Judges 16:1

“For the men [of Israel] themselves go apart with harlots

[prostitutes].” Hosea 4:14
