The study also found a correlation to time spent with friends. The more time spent with friends, the more likely teens are to smoke, drink and use drugs. Sexual immorality has consequences in areas of substance abuse.

If you remember the discussion about rape in the last chapter, this headline might surprise you. “Girl, 12, Blamed by Judge for Sex Act.” 54 “A judge freed a man who had sex with a girl of 12 – and said it was her

fault they ended up in bed.” The man “met the girl in an Internet chat room and later twice had sex with her at her parent’s home when he was 18.” The girl’s parents allowed the man to stay at their house and apparently she went into his bedroom. The judge said she was a “willing participant” and had

instigated sex when she went into his bedroom. The judge seems to have a boys will be boys attitude recognizing the automatic penile response, but seems to lack the common sense that a 12-year old should not be making sex decisions and an adult should be held to adult standards of behavior. Of course, many people are upset with this judge over his sex rulings. One

wonders what kind of mindset allowed the girl’s parents to authorize an 18- year old to spend the night as a potential boyfriend of their 12-year old daughter. Sexual immorality has consequences in the courtroom and in society’s perception of what is a sexual decision for a 12 and 18-year old.

Breastfeeding has become a subject of debate and a recent headline read: “On Breastfeeding, Rights and Good Manners.” 55 You wouldn’t think that forty states have breastfeeding legislation, would you? “Some, like

California, give women the right to breastfeed ‘in any location, public or private, except the private home … of another;’ the mother may sue if breastfeeding is denied.” What’s with this? The issue of lewdness. Listen, a nicely shaped breast with a baby suckling can be an erotic lascivious visual

stimulation for some men. What about common sense and modesty?
