Blue-Chip Corporations Profit From Porn Industry!
According to a recent article 18, “The porn industry earns between ten
and fourteen billion dollars a year in the United States — and some of America’s blue-chip corporations are sharing in those enormous profits.” The term “blue-chip” refers to America’s most respected corporations. Are the very top echelons of America’s large corporations involved in peddling
pornography? The article cites a report from the Concerned Women of America “CWA,” which lists the following blue-chip corporations that are now profiting from selling pornography.
AT&T MCI Time-Warner Comcast Echostar DirecTV Hilton Marriott Sheraton Radisson VISA MasterCard America Express
Are you shocked? You should be. Most people do business with at least one of these blue-chip corporations. With such heavyweights in the corporate world promoting pornography, is there any reason not to expect
that it would proliferate throughout our society and pervade our lives? In other words, some of these corporations are basic to our everyday way of life from supplying our telephone and cable service to providing financial services to us. They use profits from our moral transactions to fuel their
immoral business activities. Do we wind up supporting evil through our ignorance of their business practices? Yes! Is it time for a boycott? Yes!
According to the CWA report, “AT&T and MCI made one billion
dollars last year from dial-a-porn calls. AT&T made over $300 million from its cable and satellite porn channels. Echostar and DirecTV made over $200 million each. And hotel corporations made over $200 million each from porn movie rentals.” CWA spokesperson Jan LaRue says it is a sad
situation, “We spend hundreds of millions of dollars of federal tax money trying to convince the public of ‘safe sex’ and yet we’ve got a $12 billion industry promoting unsafe sex.” Woe to every corporate executive who has played a role in enabling and promoting pornography. Verily I say unto you that you will be naked before God unable to hide behind a corporate excuse.
