Chapter 19: Myth—Sexuality Doesn’t Matter

Sergey Brin, the Google founder that oversees the “Don’t be evil”

corporate policy says he finds himself “choosing the path of usefulness over a righteous crusade.” Well, Sergey, if its useful to filter out pornography for China, why not for the United States? Unfortunately, I’ve never read any discussion of how “usefulness” can supersede “righteousness” in the Bible.

Stick to the core value and start filtering out adult sites. Corporations that engage in pornography, promote pornography or enable pornography are all the same to God. They cause others to sin. Verily I say unto you that the sexually immoral actions of all businesses will have consequences with God.

It doesn’t take a lot of brainpower to understand the moral decline in the United States and the rest of the world. Just open your eyes to the daily onslaught of headlines that document the vile, evil, wicked, and the sexually immoral acts in society. I know that one can get turned off to such news, but

before you turn off, you’d better turn on to sexual morality and how it can benefit your family today and for eternity. While such headlines represent a micro view of the planet’s sexual health, God also has a larger view in the Bible. Consider the sin of Lot’s two daughters in Genesis 19:32 and its

consequences. The Bible records the following:

“Thus both the daughters of Lot were with child by their father. The firstborn bore a son and called his name Moab,

he is the father of the Moabites to this day. And the younger, she also bore a son and called his name Ben- Ammi; he is the father of the people of Ammon to this day [Ammonites].” Genesis 19:36-38

Do you recall the Ammonites from the last chapter? They worshipped their god Molech [also called Milcom] by sacrificing their children with a “consuming” fire. The incest of Lot’s younger daughter fathered Ammon,

the founder of the Ammonites, which held a hatred for the people of Israel.

“The prophets predicted fearful judgments against the Ammonites because of their hostility to Israel (Jer. 49:1-6;

Ezek. 25:1-5, 10; Amos 1:13-15; Zeph. 2:8).” 63
