Chapter 19: Myth—Sexuality Doesn’t Matter

Page 5

“For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do

the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing

them.” Romans 2:14-15

It’s Your Job To Control Your Sin!

The above discussion might challenge your thinking as someone who

is “named” a Christian. How many times have you been taught you cannot help yourself and that is why you need Jesus? It’s Christian mythology. God Himself teaches you that you are responsible for ruling over your sin and not letting sin rule over you. That is what Hebrews 10:26 imparts as it

teaches you salvation does not exist for those who choose to be willful sinners. Christ is supposed to bring you back to the Father. Your return to Him is demonstrated by your heart’s righteous behavior & actions.

Everyone who has “surrendered” knows that he or she can then exert control over sin and can certainly stop being a willful sinner. This doesn’t make you perfect, but it does mean that you have chosen God’s righteous side. Go back and read chapter 5, Practice from the Heart, if you do not

fully understand that a behavioral transformation takes place in every true [sincere] believer’s heart. Why should you exert control over your human sexuality? It means eternal life or a second death; that’s why!

Guard Your Heart With Wisdom’s Reason!

I provided a graphic of the communications model between the mind and heart in the last chapter. His Word states our intentions and actions in life flow out of what is in our heart. That is why God says to guard our heart

carefully. WISDOM’S REASON is the guard that protects your heart.

“Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” Proverbs 4:23 NIV
