I’ll plead guilty to violating this sex rule a number of times when I was a young man and my hormones raged. If a male doesn’t get sex, he

might even believe he’ll die or his penis will even fall off. Humorous as it is, that is how intense the male sex drive can get at times. I remember some very intense internal and physical sexual pressures from my body in which there was little thought possible other than “I’ve got to have sex—now!”

Most males can attest to such intense physical pressures to have sex at some time in their life. I’ll admit that I was totally ignorant of spiritual things at the time and of how God will protect our human bodies by commands in which He provides no explanations. I was also ignorant of the spiritual

aspect of sexuality that is invoked by simply holding your wife in a loving way without any expectation of her having to physically “put out.” Learning to adoringly caress your wife without sexual physical expectation can be an incredible spiritual foreplay for a later more gratifying time of making love.

Most of God’s nakedness rules relates to the possibility of incestuous relationships. God wants us to maintain a sexual distance when it comes to those in our immediate family or “near of kin.” That includes stepsisters, stepbrothers, aunts, and uncles, etc. Even adopted sons and daughters count

as immediate family and “near of kin.” God’s expectation is that only a husband and wife will get naked together. Nakedness does lead to sexual activity and sexual immorality is directly implied in the above “near of kin” relationships. God specifically says it is “wicked” for a man to see both a

woman and her daughter naked. Why, if not for the certainty of sex? It is also “wicked” if a brother and sister lie together. And in the case of a son lying with his father’s wife, that they should be put to death [son and wife].

As a parents raise their children, they bathe and care for them up to the age they are able to do so on their own. Prior to puberty, parents must teach their children to bathe themselves. It is wicked for a mother to see her son, who is past puberty, naked. Likewise, it is wicked for a father to see his

daughter, who is past puberty, naked. This is also simple common sense and decency! Where disability occurs or death is imminent, for a child, it alters God’s concerns. During Jackie’s dying process, when she was no longer able to care for herself, it was her sister that primarily cared for her and saw

her [Jackie’s] nakedness. If not her sister, then it was I. Jackie inherently knew that it was wrong for her son or two daughters to see her nakedness.
