In contrast, wisdom connotes a depth of intellectual knowledge and
mental discernment that only comes from the length of one’s days, studies, experiences and God’s input into the spirit-soul-mind. Therefore, wisdom and its “chief virtue” called reason is a faculty of the mind and its intellect while understanding is a faculty of the heart. Thoughts occur in the mind,
the heart and in the “gatekeeper” of reason. Expressing these three internal primary thought sources yields the following graphics model.
