In the big picture, there are many more immoral kinds of sex activity

than there are moral kinds of sex activity. That is demonstrated in the above graphic by the limited size of the box labeled “Sexually Moral Practices.” Moral sex is primarily limited to sex between a married man and his wife. This is the essence of Hebrews 13:4 and many other biblical verses. The

item labeled “Self-contained Sex; No Heart Action!” identifies solitary sex, which does not involve external activity. This is masturbation and would certainly not involve other people or sexual objects and toys. I believe that Matthew 5:30, 1 Cor. 10:13, and Romans 1:26-27 are relevant to the issue of

masturbation.

“And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast

into Hell.” Matthew 5:30

“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you

to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” 1 Cor. 10:13

“For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, [left] the natural use of the woman.” Romans 1:26-27

God designed the male body to ejaculate in nocturnal emissions when sexual pressures build up too much. It is not unnatural for the penis to be masturbated. This occurs in a variety of ways as mentioned earlier. Is it a sound theology to teach a male to ignore the sexual pressures that build up

and to go literally crazy mentally? Or is it a more valid theology to teach the male not to waste any energy on the sexual pressures and if needed, go take care of the issue in a matter of a few minutes? Therefore, one theology can result in males obsessing over internally generated sexual pressures all day

long. In the other, the pressure is dealt with and not allowed to consume any excessive amount of time in the male’s mind. Which is more biblical?
