If at all possible, even during death, the above nakedness rules should

be followed to honor God’s instructions. He has mercy and grace for those who find themselves caring for a family member in which these rules are violated out of perforce.

Not all nakedness relationships were disclosed, because in the days when the rules were dictated, there was little sexual immorality on the part of wives and females in general. Most of the problems were on the part of males. You can’t make such a general statement today with the emphasis on

legalizing Gay and lesbian relationships and the drive to make them morally equivalent to those of heterosexuals. This apostolic and interpretive fact is reflected in the italic relationships shown in the table rows. Note: This is not an attempt to provide a complete table of forbidden nakedness relationships, but only to illustrate the types of relationships that you should be concerned

about regarding seeing someone naked. Again, if it doesn’t feel, seem or look right, it just isn’t spiritually right and it is the Spirit that speaks to your conscience. Common sense and decency guides most people on nakedness.

Note that God does not say you could not examine and look at your own body. In fact, in Clifford and Joyce Penner’s book The Gift of Sex, 9 this is exactly what they suggest you do. Get to know your own body. Then get to know the body of your lover also, who should be the spouse you are

married to. This is a book on sex written by Christian authors and with a biblical perspective. It is an excellent read and I highly recommend it for all Christian couples to understand their sexuality and God’s gift of sex.

Sexual fantasies float around the human mind on a seemingly regular basis if not an occasional one. Anything can trip and ignite a sexual thought or fantasy. Men are very visually stimulated and a shapely woman passing by a man’s eyes are sometimes all it takes to evoke an automatic physical

response. Many times a young man will experience an erect penis [boner] involuntarily simply because an unintended visual stimulation enters his eyes. Other times there are intentional visual stimulations such as when a man opens up and views a sexually explicit magazine of nude women, etc.

However, at this point in time, everything is still located in the mind, not the heart. It hasn’t gotten down to the heart where action occurs until our
