Referring to the new ABC Sunday night series “Desperate Housewives” — the article indicates that advertisers are yanking their spots due to the racy content. “A spokesman for Tyson told the magazine that the show is ‘not consistent with our core values.’ No need to worry about ABC. It has

doubled the price of a 30-second ad from $156,000 to $300,000.” Here is an example of feeding racy content to a willing public. Yet it is also an example that moral people and businesses with core principles do not have to support immorality in any form that it takes. Sexual immorality takes

many forms today and even racy television shows have consequences.

The headline read, “Sexually Transmitted Infections [STIs] continue to increase during 2003 in UK.” Medical News Today reports the following stats on sexual disease in the UK. 60

1. Chlamydia increased by 9% 2. Syphilis increased by 28% 3. Gonorrhea decreased by 3%

4. Genital warts increased by 2% 5. Genital herpes decreased by 2%

The chairman of the Health Protection Agency said, “These are all

preventable infections and it is a cause of considerable concern that we are still seeing increases in new diagnoses of STIs across the UK and unsafe sex is undoubtedly a main contributor to this.” Maybe it is, but what about the issue of sexual immorality? That has to be the precursor to unsafe sex. Yes,

sexual immorality can wreak havoc on our body and has consequences.

If you don’t think such stuff applies to rich American communities, you are wrong. The headline read, “Not a simple answer for desert’s

syphilis problem.” 61 It is subtitled, “Epidemic puts rate of Palm Springs cases of disease higher than any city in U.S.” Yes, we are talking about syphilis epidemic in Palm Springs, California where the rich and famous gather. “Despite a year of education and testing efforts, Palm Springs alone

has a syphilis rate of 81.8 per 100,000 people in 2003, twice the rate of the nation’s No. 1 city for syphilis, San Francisco.”
