gatekeeper opens up the heart’s door. Again, this is to say that there is a distinct difference between what is in our mind, goes in and out of our mind,

and what is in our heart or goes in and out of our heart. The heart betrays the essence of our soul and who we are to God. So, don’t start going nuts over occasional perverse mental thoughts. Listen, we all get them! Go nuts when you start taking actions from your heart on those perverse thoughts.

I talked about this issue of random mental thoughts in the last chapter [p695-696]. Our minds do not get us into immediate trouble with God. It is what we allow into and out of our hearts that actually results in sin. Ergo,

“guard your heart!” Yet, we should also guard our minds as well. One can become mentally obsessed with sexuality and this will most likely then lead to sexual immorality. In that sense, it is a focused sexually oriented mind that leads to sexual immorality, not the random sexual thoughts of the mind. Guarding our thoughts is why Paul taught us the following:

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever

things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philip. 4:8 KJV

Train your mind to think on these positive things. A mind focused

primarily on sexual thoughts is a lewd mind. If sex is your top priority in life, you will likely exhibit lewdness and get in trouble with God regarding sexual immorality. We are created as sexual beings and two attributes of our sexuality are rather obvious. They are procreation and pleasure. The

pleasure aspect of our sexuality no doubt enhances procreation. God meant for us to “beget” children and to enjoy sex. Mankind, however, has from time immemorial perverted the nature of our God given human sexuality with all kinds of lewd, lascivious and licentious behavior.

There is no more obvious spot to observe sexually immoral behavior than in the movies. I’m talking about the movies that are shown in theaters; I’m not talking about the pornography flicks that now invade our society.

The sexual immorality shown in the average movie theater is enough to boggle your mind. As a movie aficionado, I am speaking from experience.
