Myth—God Owns Solid Rock

Everything seemed to be unfolding in the swindle as Matthews had

planned, but the AG lawsuit was soaking up money. So in September 1996, Matthews relented to the Minnesota District Assembly of God and allowed them to talk to the congregation. They would have their say and we would then vote as to whether or not we still wanted to change affiliations. Not a

single member at large like myself had any clue that Matthews had already falsified the changes he needed with the Minnesota Secretary of State. His fraudulent Articles filing already disenfranchised the entire membership. Now, Matthews asked us to vote again. It worked for us, since none of us

knew we had no voting rights under Matthews’ new falsified Articles.

The District Office presented their case to the members, but Matthews refused to allow any discussion to take place. Of course, we voted again to leave the Assembly of God denomination. However, the entire vote was all

based on misleading information and the withholding of material facts. We were like a ringed-nosed cow easily led in any direction Matthews wanted. The membership had relied on its board. However, Satan’s “righteous appearing” servant deceived the board, church members and denomination.

We were never told anything else about the denomination switch. So in October of 1996 I asked Matthews the big question: “Are we now an AFCM Church?” I was told yes. Yet, virtually not a word had ever been

said about changes to the Bylaws or Articles. There had been no posting of changes as required in existing Bylaws and Articles. Therefore, none of the members knew Matthews had relegated us to second-class citizens and taken away our voting rights under the guise of the New Testament church.

At a Wednesday, November 20, 1996 service, only two days before a Harvest Dinner meeting, Matthews abandoned God’s Word in a clear and distinct way; he finally slipped. I caught the apostasy. Matthews hoped to

raise $100,000 from his congregation on Friday. To do so, he would openly lie about the word of God. I left the church and other than meeting once with Matthews to discuss his apostasy I never returned. Yet there existed many unanswered questions in my mind. As a truth seeker, I eventually

started to investigate the church. I knew something smelled afoul. One big question was, what exactly is on file with the Secretary of State’s Office?
