Myth—God Owns Solid Rock

In the above graphic, mainline churches, which tend to be more liberal

in nature, are separated from churches that are more conservative. The most distinguishing feature of the two groups is how they treat the Bible and its text. At one extreme, the Bible simply represents a great storybook of faith. At the other extreme, it represents the inerrant word of God. Of course,

there are various degrees within each group. Let me remind you that it is clear from my prior discussions that there are errors located in the Bible. Likewise, it is also clear that those who do not accept the teachings of the Bible in totality have little ground to stand on by accepting Jesus Christ’s

salvation. Hence the words: “Why do you call me Lord and do not do what I say?” The above grouping of churches into Bible zones is interesting; it also appears as a solid and basic distinction amongst different churches.

Now let me add a caveat here. It would be unfair to simply lump all

of the various churches into only two categories. Quite frankly, you just never know what church really stands for God and what one doesn’t based upon denomination alone. Listen—there are now many Episcopal churches that are dropping out of their denomination because of the sheer lack of

Bible adherence recently demonstrated by the consecration of an activist homosexual as a bishop. Certainly the Episcopal Church would fall inside zone one in the above graphic. I also personally know of zone one Catholic and Lutheran churches that are filled with the Spirit and on fire for God.

Since the Antichrist started 2,000 years ago according to Scripture, can you understand that Satan’s servants masquerading with righteousness are almost certainly in every church now? Even in Jesus’ time, Satan’s

servants were teaching in the pulpits. Consider these words of Jesus Christ.

Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So

you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy loads and put them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger

to move them. Everything they do is done for men to see.” Matthew 23:1-5 NIV
