Myth—God Owns Solid Rock
This chapter is about the theft of the Elk River Assembly of God
Church in Elk River, Minnesota. When it accepted William N. Matthews as senior pastor, the congregation did not know it had ushered in a servant of Satan who would steal the church over the course of the next three-four years. The church was renamed Solid Rock Church during Matthews first
year as senior pastor. It was a ruse to begin the theft of the church. Verily I say to you that all of the opening verses of this chapter and countless other Bible verses apply directly to William Neal Matthews, aka Pastor Bill and others as yet unknown who profess to serve Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Could it be that his wife, Pastor Mary Beth Matthews is innocent and ignorant of her husband’s theft of Solid Rock Church? I doubt it. However, I trust that God will deal with all of those who are involved and especially those who hide in the shadows. Without question, Satan owns this church
and others even if their congregations are ignorant and don’t have a clue.
This chapter asks an odd question. Does God really own the church that you attend? It sounds like an oxymoron, doesn’t it? Put another way,
does your church really serve God? How do you know? It may surprise you if you look deeper into the organizing structure of your church. It could be that you are actually unsuspectingly worshipping in a den of Satan. After years of attending Solid Rock Church in Elk River, Minnesota, that is what I
was surprised to find out about the place that God sent me. I unknowingly attended a church that was not owned by God; Satan owned it. It was a den of thieves. God had sent me as a witness to the theft of Solid Rock Church.
Jesus said: “[God’s] house will be a house of prayer; but you have made it a den of robbers.” Luke 19:46 NIV
At this point, you might think it is unfair to name names and yet that
is exactly what Satan would have you believe. There is a perverse doctrine in many churches that says: “Don’t say anything, let God take care of it.” This is a lie from Satan. God does not want you to remain silent as sin then remains un-addressed. When you remain silent about pastoral and priestly
sin, those sins are perpetuated in the church. It is the primary reason why so much abuse within the church goes un-addressed.
