Myth—God Owns Solid Rock

To say that Jackie and I were flabbergasted is an understatement. On Monday, I told Jackie that we could no longer attend Union Church, as it no

longer represented biblical truth. I called the church office and told them to take my family off of the church membership roles; we would not be back. Our family made a clear statement about God’s Word being supreme; we would not tolerate biblical apostasy. Not for any church. I don’t recall

giving Jackie much to think about concerning the decision to leave Union Church. First, I didn’t have to as we were of one spirit by then. However, it was clear that I had stepped up to the plate for my family. I had come to the point of accepting the spiritual responsibility that God wanted of me.

I have since witnessed other people taking the same stand on apostasy. If a church preaches opposite of God’s Word, a few people will leave to find another fellowship. However, those who will stand with God on His Word

are very few. My witness to this fact is an observation of the reality of the words of Jesus that few will walk the narrow path that does lead to eternal life. I was beginning God’s lessons that would teach me who Jesus planned to tell: “I never knew you.” For one, it would be people who did not value

His Word over the pulpit’s opinion or the church’s doctrine.

I didn’t know that God would provide twenty more years of training before He would call me to apostleship. I had no clue about the future and

the decisions that God would ask me to make. I only knew that I chose God over my very life on this earth. I knew that in the end it would be the right choice even if it caused problems during this earthly existence.
