Myth—God Owns Solid Rock
J esus … drove out all who were buying and selling [in the church]. Matthew 21:12 NIV
Here is a novel question for each church to consider. If Jesus did not tolerate the buying and selling of merchandise in the house of God, why do so many churches, especially WOF churches? Should we not emulate the characteristics of Jesus? What exactly is supposed to be done in the church?
We are supposed to teach the people the law and preach the word of God.
Teach The Law And Preach The Word!
Listen to the Bible teachings below and ask yourself why anything other than the Word is preached at any church. For example, why is a social message preached from a mainline church pulpit instead of God’s Word? Exactly how much can anyone learn about God’s Word in a short 10-minute
sermon in a short hour-long service? Given the clear last days implications of Bible prophecy, is the Christian church preparing its congregations of people for Heaven or Hell with such limited instruction from God’s Word?
God said: “For the lips of a priest should keep knowledge, and people should seek the law from his mouth; for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.” Malachi 2:7 NKJV
Jesus said: “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.” Matthew 5:17 NIV
Paul said: “Preach the Word; be prepared in season and
out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.” 2 Tim. 4:2 NIV
God gave instructions that the law should proceed from the mouth of
the priest. Jesus made it clear that he did not abolish the law. Paul taught Timothy to preach the Word [Law]. If you can understand these three Bible verses, you can understand what Jesus means by the term lawlessness!
