Myth—God Owns Solid Rock

I identified and located about 100 adults that witnessed the corporate

meetings conducted by Matthews in the process of his theft. Literally about 86% of these professing “spirit-filled” believers would not stand on the truth of what they witnessed. The most repeated statement I heard was: “I do not want to get involved.” Another interesting statement was: “I will pray about

it.” Does anyone need to pray about telling the truth? This is someone who obviously is programmed and headed in the wrong spiritual direction. Run these numbers and you will find that only 14% of this group of believers in a Word of Faith church would stand tall for God as His witness to the truth.

“Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen of me and what I will show you.” Acts 26:16 NIV

If God or His Son shows you evil in the church, will you be a witness for them? If not, you will surely be one of those whom Jesus says: “I never knew you.” I thought I had reached the zenith of believers who had strong faith and would stand firm for God. I thought I was at the top of all church

groups and had gotten as close to God as any church would allow. Surely telling the truth in a court of law would not be a big deal to those who shared with me and also witnessed the events of this church theft. Yet it was.

I wonder what those in every church I ever attended would do under similar circumstances if I found 100 believers in each one of them. I have come to the belief that my Lutheran brothers would make a better showing. It’s because I do not believe they have been programmed to ignore evil and

“just let God deal with it.” I believe this is a specialty teaching in Word of Faith and Pentecostal churches. Certainly it exists in the Catholic Church given all the priest scandals. What would your own church do? Would more than 14% of your church membership tell the truth in a courtroom?

Now I have to ask you this question. How many in the 100 would lie under oath to cover up the sin of the pastor or elder? Don’t tell me that no one would, as I do not believe it. In fact, I believe at least 7 of 100 would

step up to the plate in a courtroom to misstate facts, lie or in some other way back up the sinners Paul is talking about in his letter to Timothy.
