The use of the word “one” in John 10:30 is identified in StrongS’ Concordance16 as Greek word #1520. It is the Greek word heis [hice]; a

prim numeral; one:—a (-n, -ny, certain), + abundantly, man, one (another), only, other, some. The usage of the word in John 10:30 is the same as the usage of the word in Mark 10:18.

Is there anyone that will look me in the eye and tell me that Jesus is God based upon what Jesus has said in Mark 10:18? Jesus has made it clear that there is only “One” that is good. He stated that this person is God. Jesus identified his God as the “Father” and many times. The two verses seem like polar opposites, don’t they? Using John 10:30, Christians claim

that the word “one” means Jesus is God. However, in Mark 10:18 it is obvious that Jesus is not God. Such is the nature of many verses in the Bible when man tries to rationalize a doctrine that is not supported by Scripture. The contradiction in meaning is not confusion on God’s part, it is man trying

to rationalize and morph the Bible into supporting a false doctrine.

Mark 10:18 is easy to understand when the trinity doctrine is simply recognized as false, but what about John 10:30? How is that explained?

Again, we have to look at the words of Jesus closer. Not in isolation and lifted out of the larger contexts. We need to consider all of Jesus’ teachings. Do yourself a favor. If you cannot explain a doctrine and back it solidly with Scripture, don’t try. God is not the author of confusion.

“For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.” James 3:16
