You need to dig deeper if something doesn’t make sense to you. You

do this by gathering more resources to study the Word. I am also trying to point out to you that Bible study can get very sophisticated and you should not try to make the Bible into a 100% literal and 100% error free book. To do so will only mess up your mind. That is because, on occasion, you will

run across Scripture oddities like Hebrews 1:8-9 and those “missing books.” When you’ve given God your heart, He will give you understanding.

The immediate context of any Scripture text is the preceding 10 verses

and the following 10 verses. Those verses provide the immediate contextual setting. You would be amazed at the apostasy you will uncover in teachings if you simply read back and forward ten more verses from that being taught. Then compare what you have read to the nature of what is being taught. Context also involves other Scripture. For example, the tithe doctrine is

always taken out of context in regards to Deut. 14:22-29. Check out those verses at your next tithe sermon. Understanding the character of God and the relationship of God and His Son Jesus provides the largest context, which is very much abused in sermons today.

More than one Bible translation provides greater study resources. In more than 25 years of study, additional translations have not failed to clear up and eliminate misunderstandings. Remember also, that an estimated 98%

of the Bible is exoteric in nature and not controversial or esoteric like the above two verses in Hebrews 1:8-9.

Before I leave this commentary, I want to point out Revelation 5:6.

Take a closer look at the words “which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth.” As you think about the rationalization of Jesus and the Holy Spirit as God, you may want to start considering that there are actually seven Spirits of God. The trinity doctrine only counts one of them. Isn’t this

odd? Why were the other six Spirits ignored in the trinity doctrine? Most likely, they were ignored because of a lack of study resources to fully understand the word of God. A further discussion follows. For now, let’s move on to the next Hagee citation.
