Are you still in the ground with your thoughts? Then, consider the

following verses and remember that if a single Bible verse speaks directly against this doctrine, then the doctrine cannot stand the test of God’s Word. God is not the author of confusion.

“So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.” Genesis 5:23-24

“By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see

death, ‘and was not found, because God had taken him’; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.” Hebrews 11:5

Jesus said: “But concerning the dead, that they rise, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the burning bush passage, how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?’ He is

not the God of the dead, but the God of the living. You are therefore greatly mistaken.” Mark 12:26-27

To use a Monopoly game metaphor, it looks like Enoch passed GO

without getting jailed and collected $200. The Word teaches us “he pleased God.” Do you?

This “in the ground” salvation doctrine claims that the dead hadn’t

had the chance to choose Jesus yet. Since they also teach you cannot get into Heaven without Jesus, they reason that the dead are not in Heaven. Both teachings are false doctrines. However, you will have to wait until chapter 12 for a discussion on the issue of salvation with and without Christ.

For now, the word of God is clear—there are people in Heaven without the benefit of Jesus Christ. Think about the ramifications for your salvation.
