Just below the definition, a list of nine scriptures that were said to

support the purgatory doctrine is shown. Here are the Scripture citations.

Take some time and see for yourself whether those scriptures directly support the purgatory doctrine. If you are a Catholic, the scriptures might surprise you. Check them out yet? If you did, you were left scratching your head wondering where the purgatory doctrine came from. In stark contrast to the purgatory doctrine, the word of God says the following.

“And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.” Hebrews 9:27

I am sorry, there are no holding zones where others petition for your eternal transfer to a better “cell” so to speak. You’d better get it right before you die. That doesn’t mean you can’t pray for relatives and friends right up unto the Judgment Day, you can. See Apocryphal book of 2 Esdras 7:105.

What’s the point here? God wants you to know that both of the above lists were derived from printed Christian Bibles. God also wants you to know that His Word takes precedence over Bible lists. Remember, the lists

and commentaries that you find in Christian Bibles espouse established orthodox Christian dogma.

Think about this. Jesus is the Word of God incarnate. Therefore, if

you know Jesus, you know God’s Word. Right? If you know God’s Word, you will obey Jesus and God the Father. It just might be that some of those whom Jesus said “I never knew you” — never knew the Word at all.
