Chapter 10: The False Trinity Doctrine
Page 33
“By that will we have been sanctified through the offering
of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this Man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down
at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till his enemies are made his footstool. For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after he had said before.” Hebrews 10:10-15
Hagee ref #23. Is it direct support for trinity doctrine? No!
Commentary: We know that the priest’s sacrifices did atone for the
sin of man. However, those sacrifices did not alter mankind’s behavior. Man continued to sin and the priests continued to offer more sacrifices for the atonement of the new sins. There was a continued cycle of atonement, sin, atonement, sin, atonement, sin, etc. However, Jesus’ sacrifice alters this
cycle by altering our behavior. Those “in Christ” cannot continue to willfully sin because the Spirit of God and Christ dwell within us. That does not mean we are perfect on our own. It means we practice righteousness and do not willfully sin. See prior chapters. “For by one offering He [God] has
perfected forever those who are being sanctified.” Are you sanctified? Set apart for God now, free from sin’s control over you now and holy now?
“Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father,
in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.” 1 Peter 1:2
Hagee ref #24. Is it direct support for trinity doctrine? No!
Commentary: Has the Spirit sanctified you into obedience through the sprinkling of Christ’s blood? Or, are you one of those whom Jesus will say,
“I never knew you?” Obedience is the opposite of lawlessness!
