Commentary: This is another verse simply referencing three entities.

Note that there is no direct or implied support for the orthodox trinity doctrine. Instead, one of the main benefits of being “in Christ” is cited. It is access to “the Father [God].” Accepting Christ results in God’s indwelling Spirit and also the spirit of Christ within us. We are indeed one with God

and Son and therefore have access to the Father [God] through His Spirit.

“There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; [5] one Lord, one faith, one baptism; [6] One God and Father of all, who is above all,

and through all, and in you all.” Ephesians 4:4-6

Commentary: The verse makes it clear that there is “one God and Father of all.” And there is also “one Spirit” and “one Lord [Jesus Christ].” This verse is the same as others that simply references all three entities. But look at the words and their plain meaning. Only a confused

person who does not understand God can contrive a trinity doctrine using this verse.

“For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the

Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.” Philip. 3:3

Commentary: Again the three entities in a single verse are not enough to contrive a trinity doctrine. Note clearly that we are to “worship God in the Spirit.” Note the contrast that instead of worshipping Jesus, we are to

“rejoice in Christ Jesus.” We are not to worship Jesus; we are supposed to worship God. Jesus confirms this worship instruction in John 4:24.
