“Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God,

and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments.” 1 John 5:1-2

Commentary: It is ironic that the last Scripture cited as supporting the

trinity doctrine brings us back to the beginning. Have no other Gods. Those who are children of God — keep God’s commandments. Everyone who loves God [Him who begot] also loves Jesus [him who is begotten of God]. Far from supporting a trinity doctrine, Hagee’s citations clearly point out the separation of the entities from each other. There is the Father who is God.

There is the obedient Son, who is Jesus. Then, the Spirit who belongs to God and emanates from God is one of seven Spirits of God.

Accepting the trinity doctrine is like checking your brain at the front

door of the church. Scripture simply does not support a trinity doctrine and in fact makes it clear that distinct persons [entities] and distinct relationships do exist and that there is only One God. Back in chapter 6, I presented the graphic below to illustrate a teaching fundamental. You should not have to

take a leap of faith to understand Scripture. Scripture speaks for itself.
