Commentary: Since Jesus did not speak on his own authority, it is reasonable to assume that the Holy Spirit, which proceeds from the Father, does not speak except that which the Father provides. Just as the Father

has provided Jesus with words to speak, He [God] also provides the Spirit with the words to speak to our spirits.

“If anyone wants to do His [God’s] will, he shall know concerning the

doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I [Jesus] speak on my own authority.” [John 7:17] Don’t confuse who Jesus speaks for just because God has given him all authority in Heaven and earth.

“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been

given to me in Heaven and on earth.’ ” [Matthew 28:18] Both Jesus and the Spirit speak for God Almighty and operate on His behalf. This is what spiritual oneness means. When you are one with God, you do His will. You yield to His plan for your life.

“This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses.” Acts 2:32
