Therefore, there is a distinct line of separation between God and His Son Jesus. God sits on the throne. Literally speaking, Jesus sits at God’s

right hand in another chair, at your left as you face the throne of God. Jesus sits in a place of honor with God and “in the midst” of the throne. Being at this location means Jesus is a central part of the area surrounding the throne of God. Jesus [the Lamb] is the only one who is able to take the scroll from

God, open it up, read it and loose the seals [v5]. It is Jesus walking up to God Almighty to take the scroll from God’s right hand [v7]. Hebrews 1:8-9, are reason enough to have more than one Bible translation for your studies.

When any verse in your Bible sounds weird, go get one or more additional translations and seek clarity. Better yet, get a parallel Bible so you can see four translations simultaneously side by side with each other.

You will run across some odd Bible verses. However, when your

heart is with God, He will give you understanding. As I studied this section of Hebrews, the understanding that I got was to go with the word “of” in verse 8 and to simply ignore verse 9. If it sounds odd that I would do that, think about these apparent lost books of the Bible for a moment.

1 Kings 12:22 reads, “But the word of God came to Shemaiah the man of God” and 1 Chronicles 12:15 refers to the Book of Shemaiah. Where are these missing books? Wouldn’t you like to know what is inside of them? After all, God gave Shemaiah His word and he was “the man of God!” Etc.

Don’t get confused. I am trying to point out to you that you cannot take God’s Word out of its immediate contextual setting, the context of other Scripture, the context of the character of God Almighty and the context of
