Myth—Abortion Doesn’t Matter
“Therefore, these verses tell us that if some irresponsible person causes a premature birth with no injury to mother or child, the irresponsible
person still must be punished simply because of the danger it caused both mother and especially to the child. Furthermore, if any injury is done, the guilty person suffers equally, and the list begins by emphasizing that if the baby dies, the guilty one is to be killed also, as a murderer. Verse 23 applies
specifically to the unborn baby because the ‘life for life etc.’ principle applies to a woman, even if she is not pregnant. So the unborn child is considered fully human. To kill an unborn child is murder (life for life) punishable by death. 35
Other verses from the Bible show that God considers the unborn child fully human: Psalm 139:13-15; Job 3:11 (we are already whole persons at birth); Jer. 1:5; Luke 1:39-44. Psalm 127:3-5 speaks for itself.” 35
Continue reading in Exodus 21:26 and you’ll find that if a servant is struck by its master and loses an eye, the servant will be set free “for the sake of that eye.” In Exodus 21:27 you’ll find out that if a servant loses a tooth, the servant will be set free “for the sake of that tooth.” Now consider
that it is the master’s wife who is with child and whose baby is prematurely killed. Do you honestly expect that only a fine would be given for the death of the master’s child when freedom is given for the simple loss of a tooth to a servant? Woe to all who fails to take into accounts the character of God in
their exegesis. He will repay you for such evil and especially the church, which teaches His Word. I am not exempt. Abortion is evil!
What if you’ve had an abortion, supported an abortion or failed to
reprove an abortion? What then?
It is never too late to repent to God for having an abortion, supporting abortion or failing to reprove an abortion. True repentance involves a changed heart. It means that you recognize the truth of God’s perspective on
the issues of human life and turn away from self-serving, self-loving ways. True repentance is observable by your reproving of all abortion activity. If you would not hesitate to make a public reprove of abortion, you have truly repented in your heart. God corrected my sin of supporting abortion in the
1970’s and I repented. “For whom the Lord loves He corrects, just as a father the son in whom he delights.” Proverbs 3:12 NKJV Copyright 2005 Edward G. Palmer, All Rights Reserved. Book of Edward—Chapter 18
