Myth—Abortion Doesn’t Matter

Elizabeth tells Mary: “For as soon as I heard the sound of your greeting, the child in my womb [John the Baptist]

leaped for joy.” Luke 1:44 NRSV

“For You alone exist, and we are a work of Your hands, as You have declared. And because You give life to the body

that is now fashioned in the womb, and furnish it with members, what You have created is preserved amid fire and water, and for nine months the womb endures Your creature that has been created in it. But that which keeps and that which is kept shall both be kept by Your keeping.

And when the womb gives up again what has been created in it, You have commanded that from the members themselves (that is, from the breasts) milk, the fruit of the breasts, should be supplied, so that what has been fashioned

may be nourished for a time; and afterwards You will still guide it in your mercy.” 2 Esdras 8:7-11 NRSV

There is a DESIGNER behind human life and He gave instructions for

the way life is to be nurtured inside and outside of the womb. No man or woman has a right to interfere with what God has wrought by His hands.

“For it was You who formed my inward parts; You knit me

together in my mother’s womb. I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are Your works; that I know very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was being made in secret, intricately

woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes beheld my unformed substance. In Your book were written all the days that were formed for me, when none of them as yet existed.” Psalm 139:13-16 NRSV

David knew God had created him. It wasn’t a lucky sperm mating with an egg. It was the sperm mating with the egg ordained by God for the creation of David. Every fetus has unique DNA and fingerprints, which is

different from everyone else in all humanity. David knew how precious his human life was and that God created it with predestination and purpose.
