Myth—Abortion Doesn’t Matter

There Is A Time For Compassion!

Compassion is a good thing. You can tell that by all the politicians that seek to offer compassion to the families of the 932+ soldiers now lost in the Iraq during the War on Terrorism. I spent 7.5 years in the U.S. Navy and three tours off Vietnam. My heart too goes out to those lost in war fighting

for our freedom. A good deal of that fight for freedom is for your “right to life.” It is for that very ideal imbedded in our Declaration of Independence. Yet many of those who have compassion for the loss of our soldiers have no compassion for the loss of 4,000+ innocent unborn babies aborted each day.

Some of those who advocate abortion on demand express compassion and mercy over the loss of various animal and sea creatures. Substantive campaigns from abortion supporters have been waged to save from death the

spotted owl, dolphins, whales, eagles and various other creatures. But these same people worshipping at the altar of “woman’s choice” offer the creature that God created in His own image no compassion or mercy. Then there is PETA 17 — an organization using violence to protest unfair and inhumane

treatment of animals. Where is their compassion and mercy for unfair and inhuman treatment of human babies? It’s the height of hypocrisy when they’ll go nuts over the way chickens are killed at a poultry plant but won’t utter a word about the way humans babies are killed in the womb?

A key biblical question to ask is this. Exactly when is an abortion sanctioned in God’s Word? The biblical answer is that it isn’t except in the case of a natural miscarriage uninfluenced by human causation.

Lifestyle Choice Abortions When should we give compassion and mercy to a woman to allow her

a lifestyle choice abortion, since having her baby would be inconvenient? The biblical answer is never. God’s fashioned human life should not be the subject of the capriciousness of any woman’s lifestyle choice. Life in the womb should be honored and respected, not tampered with. However, given

man’s intervention by artificial insemination, the issue has become more complicated for women. We have intruded onto God’s sacred ground.
