some other translations. Let go directly to the Hebrew Bible. After all, it is their language, isn’t it? Wouldn’t they have the most accurate translation?

“And if men strive together, and hurt a woman with child,

so that her fruit depart, and yet no harm follow, he shall be surely fined, according as the woman’s husband shall lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. But if any harm follow, then thou shalt give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burning

for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.” Exodus 21:22-25 HEB

Memo — I’ve been away from the book for over 5 Months.

It seems like I just wrote the above material, but that was all done at

the end of January. It is now July 18, 2004 and I am just coming back to the book with the intent to finish it. I’ll come back to a further discussion of Exodus 21 shortly. For now, you should reflect on the differences between the NRSV translation and the Hebrew Bible shown above.

So, what has happened in the last five months? I have had several issues to deal with. Remember that one room I promised Jackie I would paint? Well, I kept my promise to her. It took me an entire week of labor

and I certainly have a higher appreciation for her wallpaper removal skills now that I’ve had to accomplish the task myself. I also took time to write her a final 20-page goodbye letter. Sorry, I can’t share that one with you.

I also met and spent a few hours with an interesting woman that God told me to talk to. I’ll share some of what God told me to say in the next chapter. You’ll find it very interesting as I discuss sexuality in the context of a God ordained love between a man and a woman. Of course, I’ll also

discuss all the sexual perversions that mankind has dreamt up. Stay tuned, as you won’t want to miss God’s view of our human sexuality.
