Myth—Abortion Doesn’t Matter

God’s Word teaches you to hate certain things, which He considers to

be evil. However, all of our hate should reside in our intellect and mind and not in our heart. When God says: “Do not hate your family in your heart,” it means you should not put hate in a place of permanency. That is what the heart represents to us. In contrast, the mind is a place of temporary storage.

We can alter our memory banks with new memories. We can erase hate and replace it with joy. That is what God does when a sinner repents and turns away from the “practice of sin.”

If us mere humans were condemned for having a wrongful thought in our mind, there is not one human being that would be saved. Thoughts come and go into our minds from a variety of thought sources. They come from God and we send them to God. Likewise thoughts from Satan, family, friends along with thoughts from countless other sources enter our minds.

When you watch a movie, thoughts flow into your mind. When you surf the Internet on your computer, thoughts flow into your mind.

When you accept a single news source as representing the truth of the

situation or issue, thoughts not only flow into your mind but can even flow down into your heart, where permanency will take place. Make sure you do not put hate into your heart, because the heart is a welcome home for all sorts of evil that God despises. Remember, you are to guard your heart.

Jesus said: “For it is from within, from the human heart, that evil intentions come: fornication, theft, murder, adultery, avarice, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness, envy,

slander, pride, folly. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.” Mark 7:21-23 NRSV

Sometimes, a flat out evil thought will enter your mind and you will

wonder where it came from. That is because you will immediately disavow having originated it. The best explanation for that phenomenon is that thoughts travel through the air and our brains are receivers for thoughts 5 just like radios receive radio waves. In that scenario, at any given moment, you

could receive thoughts from countless unknown sources. If an evil thought surfaces, just reject it immediately in “the name of Jesus” and move on.
