Myth—Abortion Doesn’t Matter

Molech: “(Moloch) 28 (has the same consonants as the Semitic word

for king). The name of the national god of the Ammonites, to whom children were sacrificed by fire. He was the consuming and destroying and also at the same time, the purifying fire.”

YAHWEH warned His people not to follow the evil ways of the Ammonites by sacrificing their sons and daughters. In fact, He taught them not to intermarry, because they would then become corrupt and just as evil. Despite God’s repeated warnings and instructions, His people intermixed in

marriage and soon engaged in the same evil act of sacrificing their own offspring by fire to the idol Molech. Solomon even built a place of worship for Molech for the Ammonite wives he had married. God taught His people “right from wrong, but they would not listen or obey.” Sacrificing children is an abomination and incredibly evil in God’s eyes. Do you respect God?

In God’s Perspective: “What An Incredible Evil!”

“The sins of Israel and Judah-the sins of the people of

Jerusalem, the kings, the officials, the priests, and the prophets-stir up My anger. My people have turned their backs on Me and have refused to return. Day after day, year after year, I taught them right from wrong, but they would

not listen or obey. They have set up their abominable idols right in My own Temple, defiling it. They have built pagan shrines to Baal in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and there they sacrifice their sons and daughters to Molech. I have

never commanded such a horrible deed; it never even crossed My mind to command such a thing. What an incredible evil, causing Judah to sin so greatly!” Jeremiah 32:32-35 NLT

Isn’t abortion just society’s new way to sacrifice an offspring? What makes Abortionites any different than the Ammonites? Verily I say unto you, abortion is the willful sacrifice of our children and it is an even worse abomination and act of evil in God’s eyes. Is there a difference to God in aborting a baby in the womb or taking a 1-2 year old and putting him or her

on a pile of fire to sacrifice to Molech? What about a 12-year old sacrifice? Copyright 2005 Edward G. Palmer, All Rights Reserved. Book of Edward—Chapter 18
