Myth—Abortion Doesn’t Matter

Jackie and I lost our first son Glen after only four short weeks of life.

It was devastating to us and we were only 18 and 19 respectively at the time. We never forgot that trauma throughout our life. Jackie is with God now, but I will never forget Glen. It was 1965 and a baby’s life was valued a lot more in those days. It didn’t mean that a young unwed woman did not get

pregnant. They did. However, if marriage was not an option, the woman most likely carried the baby and put it up for adoption. Jackie and I had friends who did just that. They put their baby into the hands of a capable mother and father who promised to love and raise that baby as their own.

Many people cannot have children. It is estimated that there are over 2 million people waiting to adopt a baby. Therefore, the “PC” statement of “no unwanted child” is a specious argument. Any woman who chooses to carry her baby to full term and then put that baby up for adoption will find a

loving home for that baby. That includes handicapped babies as well.

No doubt there were the so-called “coat hanger” abortions in those days, but let me ask you this question. If abortion was illegal today, do you

suppose there would then again be “coat hanger” abortions? This is also a specious argument, because abortion chemical technology has gotten well defined given the over 40 million abortions that have now occurred. Given modern methods, doctors don’t need coat hangers. In my research, I have

failed to turn up any significant quantity of women who had died from a “coat-hanger” abortion. Perhaps the most would be 50 women I suspect. However, today, it is estimated that as many as 300 women die each year from legal abortions. Why? It is a major health event by any stretch of the

imagination and the danger to women is real. Why is the information about the dangers of abortion being withheld from women seeking abortions? The industry makes money killing babies and selling baby parts — not from counseling women of the dangers of abortion and the benefits of adoption.

Democrats and militant women now fight vigorously to maintain the right to a partial birth abortion. Lawsuits have been filed in three states and the courts have granted some clinics the right to continue what can only be

described as a hideous procedure to kill a partially delivered baby. Why would any good people defend this procedure? It is the epitome of evil.
