King David Has Some “Biblical” Advice!

As King David was on his deathbed, he gave Solomon instructions for the next generation of the nation’s leadership. His instructions are found in 1 Kings 2 and apply equally well to each successive generation of American leadership. First come God and His morality.

“Now the days of David drew near that he should die, and he charged Solomon his son, saying: ‘I go the way of all the earth; be strong, therefore, and prove yourself a man. And

keep the charge of the Lord your God: to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you

turn’; that the Lord may fulfill His word which He spoke concerning me, saying, ‘If your sons take heed to their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul,’ He said, ‘you shall not lack a man on the throne

of Israel.’ ” 1 Kings 2:1-4

You should study this chapter, because the instructions didn’t end there. David also instructed Solomon to purge the kingdom of specific evil

that would prevent the nation from being godly under his leadership. Solomon complied and his leadership was godly — until his old age.

In Solomon’s old age, he succumbed to the evil and vile mores of his

Amorite wives. I discussed this in the last chapter. So, what happened? Solomon should have encouraged the “melting pot” idea, which made the U.S. the great nation it was. If any foreigner comes in, they melt in to the local culture. They learn our language and our mores. We used to not

accept the changing of our mores to allow “individual rights” at the expense of society’s moral health. In other words, what made America the great nation it was needs to become inviolate and built into our Constitution. That includes our basic mores so everyone understands what kind of nation we are, a “melting pot” nation. This is exactly what is being requested of new

immigrants to the European Union.
