Aside from Hubert Humphrey’s test of a moral government, we should also ask whether the proposed policy contains within it a “seed of

injustice” against any segment of our population. Many government policies do exactly that. The idea of sanctioning the systematic slaughter of babies is injustice to 50% of the population. The idea of taxing moral people to pay for immoral policies is injustice to just as many. Whenever such injustice is

found, factions of society have the right to rise up and fight a just cause. In fact, injustice is a basic cause of many wars. Don’t expect a moral people to allow immorality to continue on indefinitely. As we look at this issue in our country, the big question is not whether immoral people will leave our

nation and find “perceived refuge” in an immoral nation. The big question is whether as a nation we have the fortitude to stand for God’s morality, not the manmade “morality of rights” eagerly promoted by immoral people.

Some people want to leave the U.S. for Canada. They have legalized

Gay marriage 18, and abortion and they have even passed laws that put people in jail for reading aloud what the Bible says about homosexuality. It is now criminal to use a Bible to teach that homosexuality is immoral in Canada. 19 It is considered “hate speech” forbidden by Canadian law and

subject to criminal penalties. Is that where the Gays want to take the United States? When I think of hate speech, I think of racial slurs, curses and threats along with other forms of communication such as burning crosses and painted swastikas aimed at demeaning people of ethnic groups and even

political persuasions. The 2004 elections reached a high water mark in political hate speech when President Bush was equated with Hitler by Democratic operatives. Such talk is evil in God’s eyes, but the Founding Fathers of our nation believed that the voters would ultimately sift out the

truth from the lies. They did. That is how free speech works in the eyes of our founders.

I have no doubt that the above two tables will provide a lot of fodder

for hate speech against me. It is of little concern. Of more importance to me is that you gain a better perspective on how God’s Word views these issues. I fully realize that 50% of the Christians reading this book are likely to care less what God’s Word has to say. In fact, that is exactly what Jesus has

prophesized. The “fifty-percent” factor is discussed in the next chapter. Still, I have hope that many Christian souls will be saved by these writings.
