fails to properly consider at least two voting blocks. Consider the black vote, which overwhelmingly went to Kerry. At 89% for Kerry in 2004 6, the black vote was monolithic for the Democrats. Same thing occurred in the 2000 election 7, when 90% went to Al Gore. This monolithic “block” vote

for Kerry meant that 89-90% of every black that called him or herself a Christian also voted for Kerry. Were these blacks “smart” or did they vote for their personal interests instead of voting for God’s interests?

To the credit [or stupidity] of the black community depending upon your view, Bush received 11% of a black turnout of 13.2 million voters in 2004 8. This was up from 8% of about 10.5 million black voters in 2000. Do the math and Bush got 1,452,000 black votes in 2004 up from 840,000 in 2000. This is an increase of 612,000 votes over the 2000 vote. I would have

to believe that this increase in black voters for Bush is directly attributable to the moral values issue. In other words, these additional 612,000 black voters decided to put God’s morality ahead of traditional Democratic economic and social interests. However, black columnist Star Parker 8 writes that, “Black

Christians still vote overwhelmingly Democratic!”
