if you didn’t vote for the Democratic Party, you most likely threw your vote away for many decades. This is not the case today as the state is fairly

evenly split. However, as I grew up, I watched the Democrats govern. It was a Democratic policy that decided to bus my children to three separate schools throughout their public education. As a result, we left the city of Minneapolis where my wife and I were raised and moved to a small rural

town after our eldest daughter Paula finished first grade. It was Democratic policy that led to the tear down of low-income high-rise housing near the downtown area of Minneapolis that I used to play in. One of our childhood friends was living in one of those apartments as a poor young adult. The

city never replaced that “poor” housing stock and basically threw these poor people on the streets to fend for them self.

It was a Democratic policy that led to the destruction of 40-year old low-income two story family apartments. They are now replacing them with

higher income housing. My family used to live in one of those two story apartments in 1959 when they were first built and I was 13. Where do those poor families go? Again, they are out on the streets hunting I suspect. I also witnessed the mentally ill people get thrown out on the streets to fend for

themselves. In part the law might have played a role. If it did, it was also under Democratic governance at both the state and federal levels. All my life I have heard how Democrats represent poor people. But in my first hand experience, I have witnessed mostly rhetoric. The policies of Democrats

have usually been serving other powerful interests. The only thing for sure I could count on from the Democratic Party is higher taxes, poorer education, higher medical costs and a litany of legal abuses and injustice. In contrast, I have witnessed the Republicans try to help people get their lives together

and even reduce their taxes. They have a distinctly different approach.

The policies of the Democrats seem to have good intentions. It is a good thing to help the poor, but it is immoral to create systems that enslave

the poor. Everyone wants lower medical costs, but it is immoral to create an environment that leaves no accountability in the use of medical services and that allows trial lawyers to get rich with class action lawsuits. We humans make mistakes and that includes doctors, but if something isn’t done soon to

reform litigation — which doctors will deliver our babies? If you haven’t noticed, these doctors are disappearing around the country.
