other transgressions; — to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties

properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and

nations (especially such as have shewn kindness unto us); and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally

to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best.

GIVEN under my hand, at the city of New York, the third day of October, in the year of our Lord, one thousand seven

hundred and eighty-nine.

(Signed) G. Washington

“Only do not rebel against the Lord, nor fear the people of [other nations], for they are [impotent]; their protection has departed from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear

them. [The Lord, He is our protection!]” Numbers 14:9

God is close to righteous people and that spiritual fact is something ungodly people will never understand. However, He is also close to the

righteous nation. When a nation places God first, His protection will be over that nation. When a nation denies God, that nation will not only lack His protection, but can even wind up with His curses. That is Israeli history from Abraham’s faith. It is U.S. History from our Founding Father’s faith.

Our founders chose God and formed a Christian nation. They were united in their spiritual understanding. When our country was founded, it was not considered something strange to believe in God like it seems today. To the contrary, to not believe in God was strange and debased. If you want the

enlightenment that our Founding Fathers had, start reading the Holy Bible and compare it to the historical writings of these great men.
