[The Courts] have demonstrated “a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute

Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world. — [The Courts] have “refused [their] Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good. [The Courts have] forbidden … Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless

suspended in their operation till [their] Assent should be obtained.”

We live in a society that whenever a moral law is passed or even a governmental policy is implemented that either the ACLU or some wealthy individual doesn’t like, for whatever reason, there is instant litigation in the

courts. For example, a recent headline read: “ACLU threatens abstinence program 31.” The State of Louisiana is running an abstinence program and has a web site promoting it to young people. On the web site is the testimony of a 15-year old girl who writes, “Virginity is something very

special which we have been given by God and we can only have it once. When you give it to someone it will be gone and you can never get it back no matter how rich you are. I’m so thankful to God for being with me and giving me the wise choice — to abstain. I’m 15 and proud to be a virgin and

I won’t be sorry for that. I think one day my future husband will be very happy for the decision which I made and he’ll respect, trust me and feel secure with me.” The ACLU threatened to take Louisiana to Federal Court in 30 days if it doesn’t remove this and all religious references from the site.

It is time our society stood tall and brought God fully back into our government. I’m not talking about religion. I’m talking about being able to invoke a higher moral calling on all of us, whether or not any of us really

understands it. State and Federal governments have an interest in keeping teen pregnancy low. The moral reasons for abstinence are well stated in this teen’s testimony. God is a primary basis for motivating moral behavior. Yet today, you are sued for mentioning God on a state web site? If you live in

Canada, and publicize the fact that homosexuality is an abomination to God who says such people are “debased” [Rom. 1:28], you wind up in jail?
