Myth—God Heals Everyone

The power of your prayers is enhanced when you deploy the biblical

“as-if principle” explained by Paul in Romans 4. You literally envision in your mind and spirit the healing that God is delivering. This is to say that you do not see things as the world sees them. You know that two realities exist. One is the reality our senses detect; the other is God’s reality. In

God’s reality, He calls things into existence that did not exist before. In the present case, healing. Therefore, be like God and call healing into existence.

“This happened because Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who brings into existence

what didn’t exist before.” Romans 4:17 NLT

I flipped through two old tattered and marked up Bibles to find the “as-if” principle. My friend Norman taught it to me almost three decades

ago. It works in all areas of life in situations where God doesn’t have another plan for you. In any case, you should never stop praying regardless of what your senses tell you. Sometimes the nature of prayer might change like mine did with Jackie’s father who died of colon cancer. We fought

earnestly in prayer for healing for many months. However, his body became severely emaciated and his pain became intolerable. Eventually the nature of my prayer changed. God showed me that it was time for me to pray for mercy. That is what we then prayed for. We also told Archie that it was

okay to go home. In the realm of dying and “shedding our flesh” it can get obvious that healing is not in God’s bigger picture. Remember, God does not need months or years. At that moment, we need to spiritually release our loved ones. More than one person has suffered endlessly because he or she

was afraid to leave a loved one. A lack of release held them in their body.

Listen. Do not unduly hold your loved ones on this earthly plain. To do so simply increases their pain and suffering. It is a very self-centered

thing to do and we are taught not to live for ourselves by Christ. As a father or mother needs to give their child wings to leave the house, we all need to give our dying family members their wings to go home. My daughter asked Connie: “Do you know what to say when someone asks how many kids you

have?” Connie said no. Patty replied: “Tell them you have two that can walk and one that can fly.” Patty knows what it means to let go.
