Myth—God Heals Everyone

Many Wheel Chairs Untouched

My personal observation is that people in wheel chairs usually remain there if it has been many years. I have never witnessed a physically reconstructive healing such as a spinal regeneration or the growth of new bones, etc. We know that this kind of healing did occur in the Bible. Therefore, I personally

believe in such healings and have thrown my faith into prayer many times. I myself have witnessed only those whose bodies were deathly sick healed by the prayer of faith as the Apostle James taught. Why healing occurs in some cases and not in others may be related to God’s glory as Jesus explains.

Jesus said: “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them.” Matthew 11:4-5

“As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man who had been blind from birth. ‘Teacher,’ his disciples asked him, ‘why was this man born blind? Was it a result of his own sins or

those of his parents?’ ‘It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,’ Jesus answered. ‘He was born blind so the power of God could be seen in him.’ ” John 9:1-3 NLT

Sometimes a serious physical abnormality exists in people simply so God’s power can be seen in that person. It is a witness to all when someone who suffers physical limitations is still able to magnify God. Their faith is a huge testimony because of their physical limitations. Many blind are able to

do things those with sight cannot do. Many lame are able to do things the physically able cannot do. I know of blind people who play music even though they cannot read music sheets. I know of people without arms who play guitars with their feet. Many such examples can be illustrated. How

does this happen? It is accomplished through faith in God and all of the success of the disabled is a living testimony to the able bodied that God does exist and inspires people to lead remarkable lives despite serious limitations.

It is a sad commentary that the able bodied often cannot deal with bad health habits while the physically disabled accomplish wondrous things.
