Myth—God Heals Everyone

I believe my prayer for Jackie fit in the framework of what Apostle

John taught. Jackie was healed and we never did find out what was wrong. I was gleeful because I knew it was the power of God that healed her. About 2-3 years later another bout occurred which was even worse. The blood clots were larger this time, about the size of a quarter. Again I went into a

prayer mode and she was healed. Jackie had undergone a series of very sophisticated tests and they all came back negative. The final one was to go down into her lungs with a scope and look. I prayed that God would make her lungs look exactly like she had never smoked in her life. Smoker’s lungs

look real black compared to the pinkish tissue of a non-smoker’s lung. I was in the room as the doctor went down into her lungs investigating the tissue. I remember how befuddled he looked as all he could see was normal healthy lung tissue. I specifically asked him: “What did you see?” He told me that he only saw healthy lung tissue and did not find anything. Again Jackie was

healed and the doctor surmised that she probably had a tear on the lung tissue that was responsible for the blood. The doctor never really found anything solid. I knew that once again God healed her.

How did I pray? I got close to God in my spirit and I envisioned God’s hands going over every area of Jackie’s body and organs that needed to be healed. As I saw His hands touching her organs and body, I saw His healing over those areas that needed a healing touch. I have used the same

method to pray for several other healings. I also meditated and spoke God’s Word about healing from a list I have written in my Bible.

In the hospital on February 26, I was reading my healing verses and

studying the Bible for one of the chapters I was writing. I kept focused on the Word in Luke 8:50. Jesus says: “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.” As I waited for Jackie to return from her invasive tests, I kept praising God and saying — “I believe Father.” This time, it was not

to be a divine healing. Like Apostle Paul, my prayers ran up against God’s grace. And like Paul, God’s grace would have to be sufficient for I did not have any answers that made sense to my limited human understanding. This time, Jackie’s sickness would have to be stuffed into the “I can’t handle it

Lord” gunnysack. We never stopped praying for Jackie’s healing right up to the end. We also never stopped praising God for the gift of Jackie’s life.
