Myth—God Heals Everyone
The peace Jackie exhibited while dying was only matched by the unbelievable bravery she showed. I do not recall her ever expressing a
concern about herself. I only recall her expressing concerns about others. The 98 days God gave us allowed all of us to say our good byes. In the end, there was no fear in her — only peace! To which, with tears in my eyes, I praise the God that I serve for the awesome gift He gave to Jackie.
Of course our individual faith plays a role in healing and I am always conscious of the fact that the prayers of a righteous man counts a lot with our God. I remember looking at Jackie’s somewhat emaciated body towards the
end wondering how our grandson Christopher was coping. He was the first grandson and spent his first 24-months with us. It established a soul-bond with Jackie as if he was her son. At age 15 he fought back the tears and kept praying. I remember thinking towards the end what an excellent healing story this would be to see her suddenly get up having experienced yet
another miracle. I could almost read Christopher’s mind as he thought the same thing I did: “It’s not over yet. God still has time to heal her.” It wasn’t over yet and who knew whether God would be gracious in this situation? To paraphrase King David, “Who knows what God will do at this time?”
I have lived a high-tension entrepreneurial life and studied the issue of stress reduction more than once. My top three methods of dealing with the issue of stress are simple. It starts with my spiritual connection to God.
1. Prayer 2. Nutrition 3. Exercise
The power of your own individual prayer is mainly dependent upon the degree to which you can surrender your heart to God. Draw near to God and witness that He will draw near to you. Give God 100% of your heart
and you will witness miracles happen. It doesn’t always mean your prayers will be answered exactly the way you want them to be answered. Certainly mine wasn’t. Yet I understand that all of this was God’s will even if I do not understand what happens next in my life. I understand that Jackie’s death is
something that must be placed into the “I can’t handle it Lord” gunnysack.
