Myth—God Heals Everyone

If God always healed, we would not suffer so many losses each year

within the church at large despite many solid prayers of faith. Real prayers of faith are made in the manner of how Jesus taught us to pray. Jesus taught us to pray that God’s will be done. Ultimately, God is not a slot machine whereby one simply makes a demand upon the anointing and gets what he

wants. That is the stuff of Christian mythology in the “name it and claim it” crowd. Real sincere faith will yield to God in every situation and we are taught nothing less than that in the Holy Bible we profess to believe in. This doesn’t mean you should not exercise your faith. It is just the opposite,

exercise your faith and then trust in God to deal with the outcome.

What should you do if you get that subtle message inside of you to pray for someone? You should pray regardless of the time of day or night that you get that unction from God’s Spirit. Your prayer may make the

difference between life and death. What should you do if you get the message to go down to a hospital or nursing home to pray for someone? Get up and go down and pray for them, even if you do not know why. Too many people ignore the unction of the Holy Spirit in their lives. It is one reason

our families suffer needlessly in this life. Here are some prayer examples.

A Healed Heart Our friend Kathryn was purging her food with an over the counter syrup

used to induce vomiting. She was bulimic. By the time we learned of the problem, she crashed and was on her deathbed in the hospital. Her heart had expanded physically to four times its normal size as a result of her eating disorder and uncontrolled bad habit. She was placed on a heart machine for

a longer period of time than anyone in history; she was given less than a 5% chance of survival when the machine was removed. Our family mounted a prayer vigil at the hospital and spoke healing over her body using some of the verses shown earlier. Eventually, she was healed and is now teaching

others about the eating disorder. It was divine healing and no one can deny what had happened to her and how God had intervened to save her life.

Legs Untouched

Prayer for my dear friend’s wife was met with virtually no change. She is still restricted to a wheel chair and both legs are still totally dysfunctional.
