Myth—Giving 10% Is A Tithe
If you are wondering what a mite was worth, it comes from the Greek
word lepta and was a small copper coin worth a fraction of a penny. The widow in the New Testament gave everything she had. It is an interesting perspective for those who do it. When you give everything, God knows that your heart is where it belongs. Indeed, He will take care of you. So another
lesson of the widow is that of a sacrifice. In a way it is similar to the thought of blessing those who curse you; turning the other cheek; loving those who hate you; etc. How can the world see Christ in you if you are not different from other people? They simply can’t. This then is what it means to not be
friends with the world. Do not be concerned about money like the tithe preacher is whose path leads to eternal damnation and for all who follow.
Extortioners & Practitioners of Lies!
Woe to you preachers and teachers of the tithe. For you extort money from God’s people by distorting His Word for your personal gain. You are a lover and practitioner of lies and you lead people astray from God. You also place people under the curse of the Law in the guise of being cursed if they
do not obey what you tell them. You lie about the truth of God’s tithe law and all of its instructions. In so doing, you condemn your own self to a fiery death. Repent and get right with God. Get out of the ministry if you cannot teach the word of God in a straight and honest way.
“And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own?” Luke 16:12 NKJV
Jesus said: “For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” Matthew 16:26 NKJV
“And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.” Hebrews 4:13 NKJV
