Myth—Giving 10% Is A Tithe
Tithing Is Living Under The Ceremonial Laws!
The Amplified translation of Galatians makes it clear that we are no longer governed by the ritual or “ceremonial laws.” The “tithe law” is a part of these “ceremonial laws.” Therefore, the answer to the question of whether or not you should tithe is clearly no! You should not tithe as God’s
Word makes it clear that those choosing to live under this section of laws are cursed. Here is a list of the ceremonial laws and verses in Deuteronomy.
1. Law of the Central Sanctuary 12:1-28
2. Law of Idolatry 12:29-13:18 3. Law of Food 14:1-21 4. Law of Tithes 14:22-29 5. Law of Debts 15:1-11
6. Law of Slaves 15:12-18 7. Law of Firstborn 15:19-23 8. Law of Feasts 16:1-17 a. Passover
b. Feast of Weeks c. Feast of Tabernacles d. Feast of Unleavened Bread
Indeed, those who tithe are in violation of Apostle Paul’s instructions in Galatians 3:10. They are actually living under the ceremonial laws in disobedience to the word of God. Instead of being blessed as the Word of Faith preacher teaches, ironically they are actually under the Law’s curse.
“Therefore let no one sit in judgment on you in matters of food and drink, or with regard to a feast day or a New Moon or a Sabbath. Such [things] are only the shadow of
things that are to come, and they have only a symbolic value. But the reality (the substance, the solid fact of what is foreshadowed, the body of it) belongs to Christ.” Colossians 2:16-17 AMP
