Myth—Giving 10% Is A Tithe

Let’s return to the issue of which Laws we need to be concerned with.

The fact Jesus rejects Christians, who are lawless to some extent, means that we must comply with some part of the “Law.” It also means that we cannot summarily just dismiss the first five books of the Bible written by Moses. We get another clue from Paul’s writings to the church at Ephesus.

“By abolishing in his [own crucified] flesh the enmity [caused by] the Law with its decrees and ordinances [which he annulled]; that He from the two might create in Himself one new man [one new quality of humanity out of the two],

so making peace.” Ephesians 2:15 AMP

NOTICE: I have for sake of clarity and distinction in this book made an attempt to change all capitals on words obviously pertaining to Jesus so

it will be clear we are talking about Jesus instead of his God [Yahweh] in the Bible verse. Hence in the above verse it reads “in his [own crucified]” vs. “in His [own crucified]” which is as it appears in the Amplified translation. I will try to be consistent in this method throughout the book

where the use or lack of use of the capital letter is obvious in the context. The use of capitals referring to both Jesus and God do not reflect the truth of the relationship between the Father and His begotten Son. I am satisfied in the spirit that this is useful for all the discussions in this book.

I believe a correct interpretation of the above verse, with Galatians 3:10 in mind, would read “some decrees and ordinances in the Law have been annulled.” Yet certainly this does not indicate that commandments and

commands are annulled? Jesus must be thinking of something specific with his lawless comment. Consider these statements of Jesus.

Jesus said: “I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone

steadfastly believes in me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater than these, because I go to the Father.” John 14:12 AMP

Jesus said: “If you [really] love me, you will keep (obey) my commands.” John 14:15 AMP
