Myth—Giving 10% Is A Tithe

Do you suppose all such people who have suffered under the misery

of the tithe preacher are unhappy? Not really. The tithe preacher just tells them about the area in the Word concerning suffering. You see there is no end to the twisting of scripture to make their corrupt arguments. The only clue you have is from your first hand knowledge of the Word. It helps if you

can read. Look into Malachi scriptures and all you see is food. Look into the tithe laws and all you see is food. But if you never look, you just get led around like a ringed-nosed cow.

The tithe preacher isn’t afraid of your intellect as he or she can feed you reasonably sounding answers. It is only your knowledge of the Bible that the tithe preacher fears. When Satan tried to persuade Jesus during his temptations, he quoted from the Bible. I should say he twisted the Word. In response, Jesus corrected him by saying “it is written.”

I suppose you are now wondering about what you should do to give to God? You shouldn’t. I have already itemized direct ways of giving to God and His Son. What about a general giving principle, is there one? You

should give from a willing heart as God gives you peace over the matter. You can give anything. Jesus told the rich young ruler to give all that he had to the poor and follow him [go penniless]. Armand Hammer the great oil magnate was said to give 90% of his income away. You decide what it is

from within your heart and through a prayerful talk with God. It is biblical to support any church you attend by giving gifts or making a pledge. However, you should not give out of any need, because we are told not to. Then there is the lesson of the widow who gave two mites in the offering. It

was all she had. She gave out of her poverty. Meditate on this teaching of Jesus. If you put your trust in God, you will not be concerned about money.

“Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which

make a quadrans. So he called his disciples [to him] and said to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her

poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.’ ” Mark 12:42-44 NKJV
