Myth—Giving 10% Is A Tithe

You can observe from this discussion that you cannot summarily dismiss the Law if you define it as the first five books of the Bible written by

Moses. Likewise, you cannot simply say that all of the Law still needs to be obeyed. I know of many well-intentioned Christians who tithe and others who even observe the laws of the festivals, etc. They are seriously lacking in understanding and as a result they are living under a curse according to

the Word. I have observed much destruction in families who have attempted to tithe for riches. It doesn’t work. Only when you give from your heart, will God honor your gift. Word of Faith churches teach a “give to get” message and it is an outright abomination to God. He will surely repay

those who lie about His Word and use the Old Testament tithe law as a means of making themselves rich.

We are taught in the New Testament that much of the “Law” is still active from a behavioral standpoint. However, we are also taught that both

tithing and Sabbath laws no longer apply, as do the other ceremonial or ritual laws. Only when you understand the Law and what is still active can you understand what an abomination the modern tithe teaching is to God.

A friend of mine asked me last week if it really mattered. “After all, aren’t we all headed toward the same goal?” The question that all believers should really ask is this: “Does the truth really matter to God?” We are not called to go around the world and beat people into submitting to Christ or to

teach them to tithe. God will make sure that all whom He calls makes it to their Heavenly home. Instead of multi-million dollar ministries proselytizing the world with apostate messages, a simple and humble missionary starting up a local Bible study group is the proper way to

dispense the Word in areas of the world that do not know the gospel. This is especially true in the poor areas of the world where God’s truth is really needed.

The “tithe” money in Word of Faith churches is used by Satan to spread a distorted and apostate message. The underlying message is to go out and get others to tithe so the minister can fly his plane, drive expensive cars and live in his palatial estate. Hello. Virtually none of this is biblical.

Not the message or the use of the money. It is time for Christians who unwittingly support such apostasy to wake up to the truth of God’s Word.
