Myth—Giving 10% Is A Tithe

If It Can’t Meet Your Need, Give It As Seed?

How was the farmer supposed to feed his family if he only wound up with nine bushels of planting seed back? If his family ate the planting seed, there would be no seed to plant for the next crop. Not to worry, under such terrible no-yield conditions, the Temple food shelf could be used to help

carry the farmer and his family over to the next planting season. Still, there is a robber within this scenario, isn’t there? Yes, it’s the tithe preacher.

The preacher’s next audacious statement is, “If you don’t have enough

to meet your need; you should give it to my ministry as seed!” Think about that apostate teaching for a moment. You don’t have enough money to buy food or pay bills, yet the preacher tells you to give him whatever you have as seed for his ministry? In other words you should give out of your necessity,

which the Bible teaches against. Here again is just another example of the extortion techniques of modern day tithe preachers. Listen to the Word.

“So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not

grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Cor. 9:7 NKJV

The Business Gross Lie!

You could apply the same yield analysis to a small business. Say a small manufacturer makes a $100 sale. In Matthews’ tithe mentality, the business owner needs to give him $10 because he is a modern day Levite [which is another Bible lie]. But this is the businessman’s gross sale, not his

gross or even his net profit. Say the businessman has $70 in cost of goods against that $100 gross sale. That means his actual gross profit is only $30. The businessman could easily have operating and overhead expenses of $20 against that $30 of gross profit. Therefore, his actual net profit or yield is

only $10. How much would be tithable? It is $10 in Matthews’ mind, but $0 [zero] in God’s mind. Remember, there were only two types of income tithable under the tithe law; both were food from the yield of Israel’s land.
